What is USDC?

USDC is the compact binary "crate" form of Universal Scene Description (USD), the 3D scene format Pixar created for its animation pipeline and open-sourced in 2016. It stores the same scene data as the ASCII USDA form but loads far faster, so it is the format production tools use for large assets and the payload most often wrapped inside a USDZ package.

USDC was developed by Pixar and is an open standard.
