Convert GLB Files on Mac

GLB (GL Transmission Format (binary)) is a 3D model format using the .glb extension. Consul converts GLB files to 4 other formats, and 10 formats to GLB. Rename a file's extension in Finder and Consul handles the conversion automatically.

What is GLB?

GLB is the binary container form of glTF, the Khronos Group's open 3D transmission format. It packs the JSON scene description, geometry, textures and animations into a single self-contained file, which makes it far easier to share than the multi-file .gltf variant. GLB is the most common format for 3D assets on the web, in AR experiences and in game engines.

GLB was developed by the Khronos Group and is an open standard.

Opening GLB files on a Mac

GLB isn't previewed by macOS out of the box. Native 3D Quick Look covers Apple's USDZ/USDC format. Apple's free Reality Converter can import glTF/GLB and convert it to USDZ.

Consul supports 14 conversions for GLB

Consul is the easiest way to convert GLB files on your Mac, or to turn other files into GLB. Rename file.glb to change its extension, and Consul converts it automatically.
