What is AZW?
AZW is Amazon's original Kindle e-book format, introduced with the first Kindle in 2007. It is essentially the Mobipocket/MOBI format with Amazon's DRM wrapper added, so store-purchased AZW files are typically locked to a customer's account. It has since been superseded by AZW3 and KFX.
